GSK franchises in anti-smoking and anti-obesity are merging. This collaboration of marketing units has been triggered by a 19%-30% loss in sales, partly due to Pfizer introducing the prescription anti-smoking treatment Chantix.

The well known online encyclopaedia Wikipedia has now got competition as Google prepares to launch a brand new service called Knol. Knol will be written by people who are experts in their chosen field providing people with useful information that is up to date. The main difference between Wikipedia and Knol is the fact that people will be recognised and praised for their submission to Knol – each article will include a named byline so they can be recognised for their efforts opposed to remaining anonymous as in Wikipedia.

The lawsuit originally began due to Taco Bell proposing a campaign ad suggesting that 50 Cent should change his name to “79 Cent”, “89 Cent” or “99 Cent” for just a day to reflect their menu prices and in return they would donate $10,000 to any charity of his choice. The Dubai based airline, Emirates has announced that they are planning to drop the in-flight newspapers, magazines and other informational guides in the attempt to help fuel costs. By doing this it will allow them to save up to a tonne in weight on each of their Airbus A380 flights which in turn will reduce their fuel emissions and costs. This is just one of a number of methods they plan on performing in their cost cutting scheme this year.
