Celebrity Big Brother Rakes in 3m Viewers
TV statistics have shown that the surprised double eviction managed to pull in 3m viewers as the public saw Latoya Jackson and Tommy Sheridan kicked out of the Big Brother house. The first part of the show claimed a 11.4% (2.7m viewers) share of the 8pm-9pm TV audience as the housemates had to perform American themed task.
An hour later in the second part of the show it managed to attract 15.4% share of the viewers which equated to 3m viewers. The 2 mentioned above received the fewest votes to win this years Celebrity Big Brother therefore was both evicted from the house.
The number one show during 9pm-10pm was tied between BBC Ones ‘The Secret Life of Elephants’ and Channel 4’s ‘Big Chef Takes on Little Chef’ both attracting 4.2m viewers drawing a 17.8% share of TV viewers for that slot.
Later on, the 9pm-11pm slot was dominated by Five’s viewing of ‘The Contractorí starring Wesley Snipes’ raking in 2m viewers which was a 9.9% share of TV viewers. This beat the second series of The City Uncovered with Evan Davisí which was aired on BBC Two during 9pm-10pm, this attracted 1.7m viewers which is the equivalent of a 7.4% share.
Closely followed by ITV’s drama Stockwell which saw a 6.1% (1.4m) share of viewers during the 9pm-10pm slot. Stockwell is a factual drama which told the story when police mistakenly shot Jean Charles de Mendes as they believed he was a suicide bomber.
Can Celebrity Big Brother live up to its expectations throughout the series as housemates get booted by the public one by one?
